Republican Rep. Jackie Walorski killed in car crash, sheriff says

Washington – Indiana Republican Rep. Jackie Walorski died in a car crash Wednesday, the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office said. Sheriff Jeff Siegel said Walorski, 58, was in an SUV traveling southbound when another car was hit head-on shortly after 12:30 p.m. The three occupants of the vehicle: Walorski, his district manager, Zachery Potts, 27, and the director of communications. Emma Thomson, 28, died as a result of her injuries. State investigators were part of a search Wednesday in Oconee County, according to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said the sheriff’s office executed a search warrant at an address on Mormon Church Road. They said it was in connection with the search for evidence in an ongoing investigation.
