State investigators were part of a search Wednesday in Oconee County, according to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said the sheriff’s office executed a search warrant at an address on Mormon Church Road. They said it was in connection with the search for evidence in an ongoing investigation. Sheriff Mike Crenshaw requested assistance from the South Carolina Division of Law Enforcement’s forensics unit, due to its expertise in the type of search involved. “Due to the ongoing investigation, the Sheriff’s Office is unable to provide further details, at this time, regarding the nature of the investigation or evidence that has been collected or evidence that is being sought,” he said the sheriff’s office in a News News. Sky 4 flew over the area and showed heavy equipment, along with signs of a cave-in. Sled’s tests and researchers returned to Columbia.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the search for evidence turned up no significant evidence and Sled investigators returned to Columbia.
