Three suspects in a high-speed chase are now in custody after hiding in a wooded area from authorities near Keystone Lake in Pawnee County. According to the Sand Springs Police Department and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, three suspects, two men and a woman, led officers on a long chase after a robbery at Sand Springs Tractor Supply. The pursuit began in Sand Springs and progressed south until the suspect began heading west on Highway 412 toward Cleveland, Oklahoma. The Pinellas jail is closed until Aug. 22 due to an outbreak of COVID-19, a Pinellas sheriff’s spokesman said Monday. The prison was on an extended lockdown earlier this summer from late May until July 11, with 40 inmates testing positive at one point. As of Monday morning, 34 of the jail’s 2,864 inmates tested positive for COVID, said agency spokesman Sgt. Amanda Sinni. During the confinement, in-person visits to the prison are suspended along with inmate groups and classes. Video visits are still an option to talk to someone in prison. Waterbury police have arrested a man in connection with an attempted armed home invasion, according to police. Police received information that a suspect was attempting to force entry into a home on Valentino Drive with a firearm while the family was inside. Officers responded to the scene and collected evidence, they said. While patrolling the area, police found a man returning to a disabled vehicle matching the description of the vehicle involved and later confirmed his involvement in the attempted home invasion, police said.
