“Do not use water” order issued for some residents in McAlester
The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) says it has issued a “No Water Use Order” for the McAlester Public Works Authority (PWA). McAlester residents are advised not to drink or use city water due to the potential for contamination, according to the DEQ. DEQ says it advised McAlester Public Works Authority to tell users not to use water after “loss of pressure and emergency use of non-standard equipment” resulted the possibility of contamination.
