San Diego Community College District Chancellor Carlos Cortez has announced that he has resigned from his position, according to a May 1 email from Board of Trustees Chair Maria Nieto Señor. A “critical incident” occurred on Canyon Hills Road in Thermopolis. The City of Thermopolis confirms there was an “officer-involved shooting” at approximately 12:37 p.m. Local sources say the incident occurred at an RV parking lot on Canyon Hills Road. The Hot Springs County Sheriff’s Office also confirms that a “critical incident” occurred and has asked the public to avoid the area. A Thermopolis police officer was shot and airlifted to an area hospital. There were allegedly two suspects, a man and a woman, who were involved in the incident. The New Orleans Saints selected DE Isaiah Foskey with the 40th overall pick. Isaiah Foskey, 6’5” 264 lbs. DE is another guy with incredible physical tools. Foskey ran a 4.58 40-yard dash, a 34-inch broad jump and a 10″ 5′ broad jump. Foskey had plenty of sack production Our Lady where he broke Justin Tuck’s career sack record with 26.5. His ability to move on the edge utilizes his athleticism, and his impressive long-arm technique allowed him to make quarterbacks uncomfortable in college. Okmulgee County search crews said seven bodies were found on a property in Henryetta, including those of two missing teenage girls. Authorities say 14-year-old Ivy Webster and 16-year-old Brittany Brewer were last seen with Jesse McFadden, whose body was also found in a rural area east of Henryetta. “Our hearts go out to the families and friends, schoolmates and everyone else. It’s just a tragedy in Okmulgee County,” said Sheriff Eddy Rice. McFadden was a registered sex offender who was scheduled to be arraigned Monday, May 1, in Muskogee County. The New Orleans Saints select Kendre Miller, running back TCUwith the 71st overall selection. Florida Highway Patrol troopers responded this morning to a collision that killed a pedestrian in Orange County. According to the FHP report, at approximately 12:10 a.m. Saturday, an unknown vehicle described as a pickup truck was traveling northbound on US-441 near the intersection of Rosamond Drive in the inside lane. At the same time, a 63-year-old Orlando man was walking eastbound and entered the northbound lanes of the Orange Blossom Trail.
