Florida Highway Patrol troopers responded this morning to a collision that killed a pedestrian in Orange County.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 12:10 a.m. Saturday, an unknown vehicle described as a pickup truck was traveling northbound on US-441 near the intersection of Rosamond Drive in the inside lane. At the same time, a 63-year-old Orlando man was walking eastbound and entered the northbound lanes of the Orange Blossom Trail. The pedestrian entered the direct path of the pick-up truck and was hit by the vehicle.
After the collision, the pickup truck continued traveling on Orange Blossom Trail. The pedestrian was now lying in the inside lane.
Shortly after the collision, a 2016 Toyota Tacoma, driven by a 74-year-old Apopka man, was traveling northbound on the OBT when he saw the pedestrian, attempted to swerve to miss, but crashed into with him.
The second driver was not injured and remained at the scene.
According to the report, the pedestrian died from injuries sustained in the crashes.
Witnesses said the vehicle that was hit was a white or silver Chevy Silverado, but could not provide any other description of the vehicle or the driver.
