A 15-year-old, Miguel Andrade, was previously arrested and charged with her murder.

Now, another 15-year-old, Brayan Carrillo, has been arrested in connection with Eason-Williams’ death.

Shelby County District Attorney Amy Weirich said her office will seek to try Carrillo as an adult for Eason-Williams’ murder and carjacking.

Juveniles between the ages of 14 and 17 charged with serious crimes can be taken to adult court, and Weirich said he believes this case fits that description.

“Due to the facts, the seriousness of this case and the criminal record of the offender, I am also requesting the transfer of this case to adult court,” Weirich said in a news release.

MPD said Carrillo was developed as a suspect on July 22.

The Tillman Station Task Force and homicide investigators went to Carrillo’s home in the 4200 block of Tutwiler Avenue. Carillo was not home, but investigators made contact by phone. Carillo agreed to meet with investigators and was taken into custody, police said.

Carillo was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree murder in the commission of a robbery, aggravated robbery, possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony and carjacking.

Andrade was charged with first-degree murder, murder in the commission of a robbery, aggravated robbery, carjacking and possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony.

Weirich has already announced that his office will seek to try Andrade as an adult for Eason-Williams’ murder as well.

A 16-year-old boy was also charged with theft of property between $2,500 and $10,000 in connection with the incident.

A 17-year-old boy was released without charge, police said.

After the robbery, one of those teenagers drove away in Eason-Williams’ car, followed by his accomplice in a blue/gray hatchback sedan, police said.

Later that night, officers found his wrecked car at Lynchburg Street and Steuben Drive.

The Shelby County District Attorney’s Office is seeking to have Andrade charged as an adult.

A report date is set for Aug. 1 in juvenile court. A transfer hearing is not expected until late August or September, the DA said.
