Belknap County Jail officials have released new information about an inmate who escaped Monday night. Peter DiBiaso, 57, is considered “dangerous” and it is not known if he was armed after he escaped. Jail officials said DiBiaso was working in the laundry room around 8:30 p.m. Monday. A routine check of the room was conducted at 9:30 p.m., prison officials said. “When our staff checked on him again during routine inspections, the door leading from our main corridor to the room was barricaded,” the prison superintendent said. DiBiaso is described as white, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds, with blue eyes and blond hair. He has several tattoos, including on his right hand, left forearm, chest, back, left ankle and left shoulder. According to the prison superintendent, this is the first escape of a prisoner since 2008.
