Officials with the Calumet County Sheriff’s Office have released the names of the people involved in a car crash on Monday, July 25 along with news that the critically injured passenger later died from his injuries .
Steven Robinson, 48, of New Holstein, died Wednesday, July 27, at the hospital, according to Lt. Eric Voland.
The driver of the vehicle was Amanda Hall, 33, of Sheboygan, and the second passenger was Rory Hunn, 32, of Kiel.
Hunn was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital and released.
The Calumet County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an overturned vehicle on fire in a CTH A field in the town of New Holstein with Robinson trapped in the vehicle, the release states. The Sheriff’s Office was notified of the crash at 2:37 a.m
The statement further states that Robinson was freed by the efforts of responding police, fire and ambulance units. Robinson was airlifted by ThedaStar after life-saving efforts and was originally listed in critical but stable condition.
Voland’s release also states that the driver, Hall, was arrested for causing injury while operating while under the influence. It is now believed that speed was also a factor.
Sheriff’s deputies are still investigating with the assistance of the Wisconsin State Patrol and no other information is available at this time.
