Fast-moving grass fire threatens homes in Glenn Heights
GLENN HEIGHTS – The city of Glenn Heights has successfully extinguished a 350-acre fire.
Three neighborhoods have been evacuated since 17:15, Friday 29 July. The neighborhoods are Craddock, Mesa Wood and Watercrest.
The fire broke out around 3:30 p.m. this afternoon and is currently in the field between the Lin Dell estate and the city’s Mesa addition area.
The cause of the fire has not been reported. Dispatch called for help in Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Lancaster, Red Oak, Ovilla and Waxahachie.
Homeowners brought buckets of water to try to prevent the spread in their homes.
