One person died Friday night after being struck by a vehicle on Silas Deane Road in Wethersfield, police said.
According to Wethersfield police, the department received numerous 911 calls around 9 pm Friday reporting that a person had been hit by a vehicle on Silas Deane, north of Nott Street. Emergency personnel arrived at the scene near 318 Silas Deane Highway and found the person lying in the roadway unconscious.
He was taken to Hartford Hospital, where he later died, police said.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.
It appears the man was crossing the road when he was hit, according to a preliminary police investigation.
