Suspect Dead, Law Officer Injured in Clemmons

As of Friday morning, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department, the State Bureau of Investigation, and the Greensboro Police Department were working to locate a homicide suspect. The suspect was located near the 2400 block of Lewisville-Clemmons Road, near Interstate 40, around 8:10 a.m. At that point, deputies say there was an exchange of gunfire between the suspect and law enforcement officers. The male suspect was pronounced dead at the scene and a police officer was injured. The injured officer is not an FCSO deputy, the sheriff’s office said Friday. The injured officer suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The identities of those involved have not been released.
