Denver’s high temperature reached 101 degrees on Friday, breaking a daily record set more than a century ago, according to the National Weather Service.

Friday’s high temperature broke the previous record high of 99 degrees on Aug. 5, set in 1877, the weather service said. The 100-degree or higher mark was the fifth time this year that the city has climbed to triple-digit heights. Temperature reached 101 at 1:32 p.m
The high temperature in Denver on Saturday should top 92 degrees, according to the weather service forecast.
