Breaking News LIVE Updates on August 8: Deputy Speaker and Rajya Sabha Speaker M Venkaiah Naidu will bid farewell to the Upper House on Monday in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other top leaders. Naidu steps down on Wednesday and his successor Jagdeep Dhankhar will be sworn in on August 11. There will be no session of the House on Tuesday and Thursday due to Muharram and Raksha Bandhan, news agency PTI reported citing sources. They added that there will be another farewell function for Naidu on Monday evening at the GMC Balayogi auditorium on behalf of all members of the House. The Prime Minister will present a memento to Naidu while the Deputy Speaker of the Rajya Sabha will deliver the farewell address, they said. The Prime Minister will release a post outlining Naidu’s tenure as Deputy Speaker and Speaker of the Rajya Sabha. This will be followed by dinner.
