Carpool driver robbed by 4 masked gunmen, Pittsburgh police say – WPXI

PITTSBURGH – A rideshare driver was carjacked when he was called to pick up passengers in Pittsburgh’s Elliot neighborhood early Tuesday, police said.

Officers responded to the 1200 block of Chartiers Avenue around 3 a.m.

The rideshare driver told police that when he arrived to pick up the passengers, he got out of his car and was approached by four masked armed men. Police said they held a gun to his head and robbed him of his cash.

Otherwise, the victim was not injured.

Police said the suspects got into their white 2019 Ford Fusion and drove off. Around 10:45 a.m., officers found the vehicle.

Pittsburgh police continue to investigate.
