CBI at the residence of Anubrata Mondal
Calcutta: The CBI has arrested TMC leader Anubrata Mondal after another summons by the agency in the cattle-trafficking case was skipped. Mondal was arrested from his residence in Bolpur, West Bengal. He skipped several appointments due to health issues. However, the doctor has sensationally claimed that he was forced to advise bed rest. The CBI had issued ten summonses but appeared only on two occasions.
This is the second major arrest by the central agency after Partha Chatterjee, who is currently in jail for his alleged role in the teacher recruitment scam. Anubrata Mondal is the Birbhum district president of TMC.
