The Argentine international spent the second half of last season on loan at Villarreal, where he excelled.

Villarreal CEO Roig Negueroles said Earlier this summer, his club were in no position to move for the Tottenham man on a permanent basis.

But now, according to reports, the Yellow Submarines have given up their man again.

Romano took to Twitter to declare Lo Celso’s departure from Tottenham a “done deal and here we go”.

He claimed Villarreal had sealed a full deal with Spurs for a direct loan to Unai Emery’s side.

In addition, Tottenham have a release clause which they can exercise in January if a club makes a permanent bid for Lo Celso.

Tottenham signed Lo Celso on loan in the summer of 2019 before buying him the following year.

However, his Spurs career has never really taken off amid injury and form problems.

The suspension of English football due to covid probably also played into the player’s struggles to sort himself out.

Lo Celso is a very talented player who will undoubtedly thrive again at Villarreal.

Then, in January, a permanent transfer solution can be found for the 26-year-old.
