Maha Govt asks people to join mass anthem singing today at 11 am
The Maharashtra government has appealed to the people of the state to sing the national anthem at 11 am this Wednesday as part of the 75 years of independence celebrations. Chanting should be completed between 11 and 11:01 across the state, he said.
Participation is mandatory for all state government departments, universities and colleges, while citizens are also expected to participate in the chant, said a government order issued last week.
“Private establishments, traders and even other government departments, including those under the Union government, are also expected to participate. Students are expected to gather in open grounds to sing the anthem,” it said the order
Delhi LG urges people to follow proper Covid behavior as cases rise
Delhi Lt. Governor VK Saxena on Tuesday said the pandemic is far from over and appealed to people to adhere to proper Covid behavior. Delhi on Tuesday reported 917 cases of COVID-19 with a positivity rate of 19.20 percent and three deaths due to the infection, according to data shared by the city’s health department.
“We are witnessing an increase in COVID19 infections, consistently high positivity and cases of re-infection. It is essential that we realize that the pandemic is far from over. I call on everyone to strictly adhere to the Appropriate Behavior of COVID. We cannot afford to let our guards down,” Saxena said in a tweet.
Delhi on Monday reported 1,227 new cases of COVID-19 with a positivity rate of 14.57%, while eight more people succumbed to the disease, according to official data. Before that, the city recorded more than 2,000 cases for 12 consecutive days.
Amul, the dairy mother will hike milk prices by Rs 2/L from today
Major milk suppliers Amul and Mother Dairy will hike milk prices by Rs 2 per liter from Wednesday due to rising input costs. This is the second hike by Amul and Mother Dairy in almost six months. Earlier in March, both had hiked milk prices by Rs 2 per litre.
The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which sells milk and other dairy products under the Amul brand, on Tuesday said it has decided to increase milk prices by Rs 2 per liter in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad and Saurashtra, Delhi-NCR, West. Bengal, Mumbai and other markets effective from 17th August.
The increase of Rs 2 per liter will translate into a 4% increase in MRP (maximum retail price), which is lower than the average food inflation, it said in a statement.
