Arrests for crimes

weapons – Ricky Alexander Castaneda, 33, of the 500 block of Newtown Street, Medford. Medford Police and Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Castaneda on Tuesday on felony counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm, first-degree robbery, delivery and possession of methamphetamine and on a warrant for failure to appear in court on a previous charge of unlawful possession of methamphetamine. No information about Castaneda was available Thursday at the Jackson County Jail.

involuntary manslaughter – John Paul Larson, 38, of the 100 block of Laurelhurst Street, Central Point. Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Larson on Tuesday on warrants charging him with second-degree manslaughter, third-degree assault, driving under the influence of drugs, first- and second-degree animal cruelty, second-degree criminal mischief degree and reckless driving. He was jailed Thursday on $100,000 bond.

assault – Justin Thomas Simpkins, 29, of Springfield. Medford police arrested Simpkins on Tuesday on a felony count of fourth-degree assault constituting domestic violence, coercion and misdemeanor harassment. He was jailed Tuesday and released on his own recognizance Wednesday.

sex offender — Miguel Francisco Villa, 34, no known address. Phoenix police arrested Villa on Tuesday on felony charges of failure to report as a sex offender and fourth-degree assault. He was jailed Tuesday and released on his own recognizance Wednesday.

Vehicle theft – Jesse Leroy White, 47, of the 1600 block of William Street, Medford. Medford police arrested White Tuesday on two counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and a misdemeanor count of third-degree theft. He was jailed Tuesday and released on his own recognizance Wednesday.

weapons – Bronson Wayne Anderson, 41, no known address. Anderson entered an appearance in Jackson County Circuit Court on Wednesday on a new felony charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies originally arrested Anderson on a warrant for violating his probation for a prior vehicle theft conviction. He was being held in jail without bail Thursday.

drugs – Marci Lynne Curtis, 53, of the 5500 block of Highway 238, Jacksonville. Medford police arrested Curtis Wednesday on felony charges of delivery and possession of methamphetamine and violating his probation for a prior conviction for manufacturing methamphetamine. She was booked into jail Thursday without bail.

Criminal mischief — Ethan Ray Hibbard, 27, no known address. Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Hibbard on Wednesday on an additional count of first-degree criminal mischief. Medford police and Jackson County sheriff’s deputies originally arrested Hibbard on Tuesday on warrants for failure to appear in court on earlier charges of strangulation, coercion, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, fourth-degree assault constituting domestic violence, reckless driving and recklessly endangering another person. He was jailed Thursday on $57,500 bond.

Attempted sexual abuse – Greg William Martin, 46, of the 13200 block of Perry Road, Central Point. Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Martin on Wednesday on a felony count of first-degree attempted sexual assault. He was being held in jail without bail Thursday.

elude – Joshua Edward McLaughlin, 32, no known address. Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies arrested McLaughlin on Wednesday on a felony count of attempting to elude police in a vehicle, a misdemeanor count of reckless driving and a felony warrant for felony second-degree larceny. He was jailed Thursday on $12,500 bond.

Use of weapons – Shannon Dominique Robello, 28, of the 500 block of Monroe Street, Medford. Medford police arrested Robello on Wednesday on an additional count of unlawful use of a weapon, new misdemeanor charges of fourth-degree assault constituting domestic violence, menacing, contempt of court for violating a restraining order contact, with orders not to appear in court. on previous charges of attempted vehicle theft, second-degree burglary, third-degree burglary and violating his probation for a prior weapons conviction. He was being held in jail Thursday without bail.

assault – Allen Wayne Williams, 59, of the 300 block of Rogue River Highway, Gold Hill. Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Williams on Wednesday on a felony count of fourth-degree assault constituting domestic violence and misdemeanor counts of harassment and interfering with someone making a police report. He was booked into jail on Wednesday and released on Thursday.
