After weeks of rumours, Pol Espargaró has been officially confirmed as a Tech3 GasGas rider for the upcoming MotoGP season. In this way, he returns to the KTM structure after two years with Repsol Honda, in which he was far from achieving the expected and desired results.
At the end of his contract with the Japanese manufacturer, the Spaniard is not an option for 2023: there is speculation that Joan Mir is the favorite to be Marc Márquez’s teammate. Espargaro has found a place in the Tech3 GasGas team, which is now an all factory team. From there, the two current drivers, Raul Fernandez and Remy Gardner, could even leave.
At Tech3 GasGas, the #44 will find two houses he knows well. On the one hand, he represented Herve Poncharal’s team in his first three seasons in MotoGP (2014 to 2016) and, on the other hand, he was one of those who started in the KTM project in the premier category in 2017, who stayed there until 2020. in a period in which he went from fighting for the last scoring places to contesting podiums and pole positions.
