Breaking news: GasGas makes official MotoGP entry with Tech3

There is a new manufacturer represented in MotoGP. GasGas will be partnering with Tech3 next season, though that doesn’t mean they’ll be building their own bike; it is essentially a designation for marketing purposes.

As we already informed you about two months ago, this change of focus was already underway. GasGas is a brand of the KTM group, which is heavily involved in its promotion through motorcycle racing, and now joins Tech3 which becomes a true factory team even though the bike’s technology is essentially shared with the KTM RC16 platform.

For GasGas it will be a debut at the highest level of motorcycling, associated with one of the oldest teams in the field: Herve Poncharal’s Tech3. It is already known that Pol Espargaro will be one of the drivers, and it remains to be seen who will team up with the Spaniard. It seems that at least Raúl Fernández will leave the two current drivers, but there are still doubts about the future of Remy Gardner.
