BOSTON – Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron is retiring from the National Hockey League after 19 seasons in Boston. “It is with all my heart and much gratitude that I announce my retirement as a professional hockey player today.” Bergeron said in a statement posted on the Bruins’ official website. In nearly 1,300 games with the Bruins, the 38-year-old forward scored 427 goals, had 613 assists and totaled 1,040 points. The crash happened just before 6 a.m. at Springdale and Midland avenues. SALISBURY, Mass. — An investigation is underway after a body washed up on a beach in Salisbury early Tuesday morning, authorities said. According to Essex District Attorney Paul F. Tucker, a person walking along Salisbury Beach noticed a man’s body floating along the shoreline near 4 Ocean Front Drive.
