Palm Springs police say there was a shooting this morning at a home and a car in the 400 block of Sunview Avenue. The homeowner said they heard gunshots around 4:30 a.m Palm Springs police were on the scene investigating as of this morning. Sheriff: Elderly woman drowns in Tickfaw River | Breaking news

A 70-year-old Holden woman died in what authorities believe was a drowning accident in the Tickfaw River. In a statement, Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard said officers were dispatched near Tickfaw Acres Road to find a missing woman Thursday evening. Deputies learned that the woman, who has been identified as Lee Ann Collette, “often went swimming in the Tickfaw River located behind her home.” “A ground and air search led to a floating inner tube and later his body,” Ard said. A man died Saturday when he crashed his car while eluding police. According to a news alert from the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office, around 12:55 p.m. an officer attempted to pull over a driver near the 5500 block of Rockydale Road in Cave Junction.
