A woman was shot to death in an apparent domestic situation Monday night. Brandi Marie Genova, 33, was found shot to death at a home at 13 Bestview Avenue, Bessemer, in Lawrence County, according to state police. Michael Joseph Work, 33, has been arrested and charged in connection with her death. State police in New Castle were notified by Work’s family, who told them he had shot Genova, his girlfriend, at his residence, according to a state police report. CADILLAC – A teenager whose last known address is Lake City was recently charged in 84th District Court for allegedly breaking into a home in Cadillac. Zachary Michael Bergey, 18, was charged with making contact in an incident that happened on June 20. According to court documents, Bergey allegedly entered a home on Farrar Street without the owner’s permission. If convicted, Bergey faces up to 90 days in jail and/or $500 in fines and costs. One person is in the hospital after a shooting in Clairton Wednesday afternoon. Allegheny County Police say around 2:20 p.m., a report of a shooting was called in the 4300 block of Bataan Avenue. First responders found an adult victim with a gunshot wound to the knee. The victim was taken to Mercy Hospital in stable condition, county police said. Clairton police arrested a man in connection with that shooting. County police are investigating.
