Police in Manchester are looking for an armed suspect in a home invasion Tuesday afternoon.
The Manchester Police Department responded to a home invasion in the 100 block of Oakland Street at 2:09 p.m., Tuesday. According to police, a man entered the home and held an occupant against their will. The homeowner returned to the home, saw what was going on inside and fled as the suspect gave chase, according to police.
The homeowner was able to hide in a nearby residence, police said.
The suspect, identified as 46-year-old Rye Shashok, stole a silver Acura TL in New Jersey on Tuesday morning and drove to Connecticut. According to the police, Shashok is known to the victims.
Police believed Shashok could still be driving the stolen Acura that has damage to the driver’s door and a New Jersey license plate E77NKX. He was last seen wearing a white hoodie and blue jeans, police said.
Shashok has a gun and knives, police said, and is considered armed and dangerous.
