PITTSBURGH – A boy died after being hit by a car while riding his bicycle in Pittsburgh’s Glen Hazel neighborhood Tuesday night.
Wednesday morning, the Allegheny County Coroner’s Office said 6-year-old Jamel Austin died from his injuries.
According to police, officers responded to the incident in the 730 block of Johnston Avenue at 8:21 p.m.
Officers found the boy upon arrival and CPR was immediately performed on him. Police said he was then taken to a hospital in critical condition at the time.
The driver of the car stayed at the scene and voluntarily submitted to the test, which police said is standard procedure.
