Authorities in Alabama are investigating multiple bomb threats at various colleges across the state, including Auburn University, Jefferson State Community College and Shelton State Community College. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is aware of the most recent bomb threats against universities and colleges across the country, which includes schools located in Alabama. ALEA’s State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) and the Alabama Fusion Center (AFC), along with local and federal partners, are monitoring the situation to ensure the safety of all students, faculty and staff. All college campuses that received threats in Alabama on Wednesday, July 27 have been cleared and classes have been deemed safe to resume. No further details are available at this time.” AUBURN University of Auburn reported a threat at 12:06 pm at the Nursing Building: “AU ALERT: Police investigating report of threatening pump in the infirmary building. Stay away from the area until I give you all the information. Report suspicious items/activity to police.” Auburn threat removed at 12:33 pm JEFF STATE At 11:58 am Jeff State reported a threat on the Jefferson campus on Carson Road: “Bomb threat reported: A bomb threat was reported on the Jefferson campus. ALL students and staff are asked to evacuate buildings (ALL buildings) on the Jefferson campus (Carson Road) immediately!!!”At 1:54, Jeff State said the threat had been cleared :” JSCC campus police and other authorities worked to determine if today’s (7/27/22) bomb threat on the Jefferson campus was real. After a thorough examination of the area, campus police officers have given the “all clear” and it is safe to return to normal operations.” SHELTON STATEA at 11:11 a.m. Shelton State reported a threat and to say both campuses were closed until further notice: “SSCC Alert: Due to unforeseen circumstances, both Shelton State Community College campuses are closed until further notice. Please monitor social media for updates.” At 12:42 p.m., Shelton State said the threat had been cleared: “Earlier today, SSCC was one of several ACCS institutions targeted for the threat of potential danger. All faculty, staff and students were evacuated. After extensive investigative efforts, the threats were determined to be false and both campuses were cleared. “UAHA at 12:05 p.m. The University of Alabama-Huntsville reported a bomb threat at one of its libraries: “UAH Alert: Evacuate SALMON LIBRARY immediately. Move away from the building. Follow the instructions of the authorities. Call 911 for help. Avoid the area until further notice.” At 12:50 p.m., the threat was removed: “UAH Alert: State of Emergency at UAH has ended. LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS HAVE DETERMINED THERE IS NO IMMEDIATE THREAT AND ALL BUILDINGS ARE CLEAR AND SAFE. “There are other reports of bomb threats at colleges in South Alabama, including the Wallace State campus in Dothan, Enterprise State in Enterprise, Ala., and both the Opp. and Andalusia campuses in Lurleen B. Wallace Community College. The threats at these schools have since been cleared. ACCSE STATEMENT The Alabama Community College System released the following statement regarding the series of threats: “College authorities Alabama communities are working closely with law enforcement at the state level and within each community to ensure the safety of residents at our facilities following alleged bomb threats at several institutions. Although no credible threat has been considered at this time, some buildings, per protocol, have been evacuated and access restricted to some campuses. Residents, including students, faculty and staff, are advised not to visit any college facilities until further notice from the colleges. ALEA UPDATE
At 3:38 p.m., the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said all threats had been cleared:
“The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is aware of the most recent bomb threats against universities and colleges across the country, including schools located in Alabama. The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) of the “ALEA and the Alabama Fusion Center (AFC), along with local and federal partners, are monitoring the situation to ensure the safety of all students, faculty and staff. All college campuses that received threats in Alabama on Wednesday, 27 July have been approved and the classes have been deemed safe for curriculum. No further details are available at this time.”
AUBURN
Auburn University reported a threat at 12:06 pm at the Nursing Building:
“AU ALERT: Police investigating report of bomb threat at infirmary building. Stay clear of area until cleared. Report suspicious items/activity to police.”
The threat to Auburn was cleared at 12:33 p.m
JEFF STATE
At 11:58 a.m., Jeff State reported a threat on the Jefferson campus on Carson Road:
“Bomb threat reported: A bomb threat was reported on the Jefferson campus. ALL students and employees are asked to evacuate the buildings (ALL buildings) on the Jefferson campus (Carson Road) immediately!!!”

SHELTON STATE
At 11:11 a.m., Shelton State reported a threat and said both campuses were closed until further notice:
“SSCC Alert: Due to unforeseen circumstances, both Shelton State Community College campuses are closed until further notice. Please monitor social media for updates.”
At 12:42 p.m., Shelton State said the threat had been cleared:
