A police operation is underway in Sydney’s west this morning as officers continue their investigations into the shooting death of a member of the Rebels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) this week.

The operation began at 7 am and will last until 9.30 am. Officers are carrying out a second examination of the areas around The Driftway, Bonner Road and Eaton Street in Agnes Banks for possible witnesses or items of interest.

It follows the shooting of a 31-year-old man, who attended Hawkesbury Hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, at around 9.30am on Tuesday.

Police were notified and spoke to the man, who is a known member of the rebels’ OMCG, before seizing his vehicle for forensic examination.

A short time later, a crime scene was established outside a premises in Bounty Crescent, Bligh Park.

A second crime scene was also declared on Bonnor Road, following the discovery of a burnt out vehicle, which has now been identified as a bright red/orange Ford Mustang.
