Bear Camp Road, the forest mountain route that provides a scenic drive from the Rogue River outpost of Galice to the lower Rogue River near Gold Beach, is now open to traffic after a fog fire operation, according to a Rogue River News announcement. Siskiyou National Forest.
The project was the second phase of a three-phase work. Logging operations have not yet been scheduled, but forest officials said they expect them to begin in mid-August and take a day to complete.
The first phase consisted of road patching and stabilization work, completed by Larry Bowen. This most recent job was a chip sealing job done by the Curry County Highway Department. The third phase work will be done along Josephine County Road.
