County GOP resolution

Thank you so much for the article and editorial about the Jackson County Republican Party rejecting Biden’s victory.

Many years ago I proudly interned in Washington, DC for Charles Percy, a Republican United States Senator from Illinois (my home state). He was a principled man who believed more in democracy than in power.

After the Watergate break-in, when President Nixon authorized a new attorney general to “make all decisions” related to the break-in, Senator Percy proposed a resolution that was passed by the Senate calling for an independent prosecutor. of the highest character”. and integrity” from outside the executive branch.

Where are the Republicans with integrity today? Locally, we can point to Alan DeBoer, who called the Jackson County resolution rejecting Biden’s victory “totally wrong.”

There has been nothing but silence on this resolution from our three Jackson County Commissioners: Rick Dwyer, Colleen Roberts and Dave Dotterer.

We may not like the results of elections, but the hallmark of our democracy is to abide by the will of the people and have the peaceful transfer of power. I look forward to our county commissioners showing integrity to refute the “big lie”.

According to multiple news sources, the Rogue Valley Council of Governments has been awarded a grant of more than $800,000 to repair/restore Bear Creek in the area of Jackson and Fourth Streets in Medford for the purpose of improving habitat and trails for laying of fish The caveat, more than $800,000 may not be enough.

It’s not like that. If all entities with a stake in our local environment were to “apply” to Bear Creek, the additional $800,000 will be more than enough to get the job done.

I would gladly trade my fishing rod for a breaker bar and even put on a Stuart kilt to throw some rocks to create riffles. And even though it’s been 45 years, he could still operate the jackhammer for the city of Meford. how do you say
