Four raids conducted in Josephine County

Three men were arrested this week during raids that turned up guns, $400,000 in cash, 12,000 marijuana plants and 10,000 pounds of processed marijuana, the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office said.

The four raids on Monday and Tuesday targeted illegal marijuana crops in the 4000 block of Redwood Avenue in Grants Pass, the 12000 block of Williams Highway in Applegate Valley, the 300 block of Livingston Way and the 1500 block of Three Pines Road to the north from Merlin, according to the sheriff’s office.

Marijuana found at the sites was destroyed, the sheriff’s office said.

All of the properties had multiple water and electrical code violations that could lead to civil forfeiture of the properties, the sheriff’s office said.

Jesus Alcazar-Varelas, 34, Christopher James Clark, 28, and Blu Shayne McFadde, 50, were arrested and booked into the Josephine County Jail on charges of illegal manufacture of marijuana, illegal possession lawful possession of marijuana and unlawful delivery of marijuana, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Josephine Marijuana Enforcement Team conducted the raids with assistance from Rogue Area Drug Enforcement and Josephine County Code Enforcement, the sheriff’s office said.
