After 57 years on television, Days of Our Lives will leave NBC and air on NBCUniversal’s Peacock streaming app.
Starting September 12, DAYS will only be shown on the streaming app, according to vulture.
DAYS has seen its license fees reduced over the years and is at risk of cancellation. President of NBCUniversal Television Marc Látzer said in a statement released about the latest move,

This programming change benefits both Peacock and NBC and reflects our broader strategy of using our portfolio to maximize reach and strengthen engagement with viewers. With a large percentage of the Days of Our Lives audience already watching digitally, this move allows us to build the show’s loyal streaming fan base while strengthening the network’s daytime offering with an urgent programming opportunity in direct for partners and consumers.
With this latest move, only three soap operas will continue to air on television.
NBC will air NBC News Daily, a new one-hour news program in the soon-to-be-vacated DAYS slot. It will be anchored by Aaron Gilchrist, Vicky Nguyen, Morgan Radford i Kate Snow.
