Students and staff will no longer be required to submit proof of vaccination or undergo weekly testing if they are not vaccinated.
Proof of vaccination or weekly testing for COVID-19 is no longer required at College of DuPage.
Director of Business Services Magdalena Ogrodny emailed the announcement to all university staff on June 13.
“The university will no longer require immunization testing and weekly testing will no longer be required or administered on campus,” the email said.
The change takes effect immediately.
The change comes in response to Governor JB Pritzker’s office amendments to one executive orderrepealing the requirement for proof of vaccination or weekly testing for students and employees of higher education.
In the governor’s press release, Ginger Ostro, executive director of the Illinois Board of Higher Education, said the board was grateful to the governor for his leadership during the pandemic.
“As we move into this next phase, we are building on the success of our campus leaders, staff, faculty and students over the past two years to keep our campuses safe while keeping students on their path to credentials and degrees, especially our students of color and low-income students who were most affected,” Ostro said.
The news release said the amendments maintain provisions to keep Illinois residents safe and allow the state to remain eligible to receive federal relief funds.
