Historic Jacksonville Inc. will carry out its Enchanted History walking tours on Friday, August 12.
Costumed teachers will share stories of woe, sorrow and regret, along with stories about the spirits that still linger in Jacksonville’s historic buildings.
These are not your typical special effects ghost tours. They are historical tours about real ghosts derived from past events. The stories come from people who have actually experienced these lingering spirits.
Tours depart from the Jacksonville Visitor Center at the corner of North Oregon and C streets and last approximately 1 hour. Guests can choose from two different tours that are offered twice each night.
The 19.00 and 19.30 tour of the Palace of Justice includes brothels, epidemics and hangings.
Britt Hill tours at 7:15pm and 7:45pm highlight arson, saloons, and Oregon’s oldest Chinatown. And both tours have lots of haunted houses.
Tours are $10 per person and reservations are required. Tickets are available at historicjacksonville.org/haunted-history-tours/.
