CSP confirms one fatality in Sunday’s wreck on US 40 west of Steamboat Springs

A crash Sunday on U.S. Highway 40 near mile marker 126 west of Steamboat Springs resulted in one fatality, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

The name of the deceased has not been released. According to a CSP spokesperson, the accident involved two vehicles: a Ford F150 and a Ford F250.

The spokesman said the driver of one of the pickups was seriously injured, while the driver of the second pickup suffered minor injuries and a passenger died at the scene.

The crash was reported at mile marker 126 on US 40 around 12:15 a.m. Sunday. The wreck is still under investigation. US Highway 40 was reopened around 5:30 p.m
