Sydney residents face another day of commuter pain as rail services are shut down by yet another strike.
Transport for New South Wales (TFNSW) said in a statement that there would be “significant disruption” to the network today, particularly on the T4 Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra and South Coast services, due to industrial action by workers.
“From 10am on Wednesday, members of the Rail, Tram and Bus Union (RTBU) will take part in two work stoppages, bringing all trains to a complete halt on the T4 Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra rail lines and South Coast until 16:00,” the organization explained. said
Sydney Trains chief executive Matt Longland said the strike would affect all rail customers, including the morning and evening rush hour, because there are fewer services.
“While industrial action officially starts at 10am, our customers will start feeling the effects from 6am,” Longland said.
“The timetable is expected to be fully operational by around 8pm.”
