RALEIGH, NC — NC State freshman catcher/designated hitter Cannon Peebles has entered the NCAA transfer portal after a sensational freshman campaign for the Pack9 last season.

Peebles leads NC State with a .352 batting average along with a .456 OPS while hitting 12 homers, serving as the Wolfpack’s designated hitter as Jacob Cozart was the team’s leading catcher all season.

Peebles, named to the ACC All-Freshman Team, tied for first on the team with 50 RBIs and posted a stellar .348 batting average and .742 slugging percentage during the ACC game. Peebles was also appointed as a Collegiate Baseball and Golden Spikes Player of the Week in early March after a 6-6, 10 RBI day against NJIT. This was the first time an NC State baseball player recorded six hits in a single game in over 20 years.

This is the second year in a row that Elliott Avent has lost arguably its best player on the roster following the departure of then-freshman Tommy White who transferred to LSU last year. out of season

PackPride will have more information about Peebles’ entry on the portal.
