Boy rescued from Abington pool

A boy was rescued Monday after falling into a pool in Abington.

The incident happened on Plymouth Street, according to Abington fire officials, who say they received a call that an approximately 2-year-old boy had been pulled from a pool. According to Abington Deputy Fire Chief Jack Glynn, an Abington fire dispatcher helped instruct a family member on how to perform CPR on the child.

Once the firefighters arrived at the scene, they took over the treatment. The boy was taken to South Shore Hospital.

The boy was breathing on his own when he arrived at South Shore Hospital, according to firefighters.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
