Americans outside Busch Stadium told Fox News how they felt about the state of the nation, with many unhappy with their division.

“I’m very concerned about the direction of the country and some of the very serious animosity that’s going on,” said Sandra, of Oklahoma. “I worry about my grandchildren and my great-grandchildren and what we will leave them in the future.”

Three-quarters of registered voters are dissatisfied with the leadership of the United States, an increase of nearly 25 points since April 2021, according to a recent Fox News poll.

“I think we need to get to a point where we stop arguing within our own tribes and start working together,” said Zack, of St. Louis. “We all still want what’s best for the country, even when it looks different.”

Gas prices fell below $4 a gallon in August after topping $5 a gallon in June, an all-time high, according to AAA. Inflation, which also hit a record high in early 2022, eased slightly to 8.5% in July, according to the Labor Department.

“The drop in gas prices where we live is a positive thing,” Sandra told Fox News, though she noted that grocery prices are still high.

“If politicians and people in power listened to us on the ground, they might say ‘oh, well, maybe we could do something a little bit different that might help the country a little bit better,'” Sandra said.
