Trump ally Doug Mastriano didn’t answer a ‘single question’ in Jan. 6 panel interview

Pennsylvania state Sen. Doug Mastriano, a far-right Republican and ally of former President Donald Trump, “didn’t answer a single question” during his Tuesday interview with the House committee investigating the riot on January 6, CNN reports. According to a source familiar with the matter, Mastriano, who is being questioned as a central supporter of Trump’s claim that the 2020 presidential election was stolen, was uncooperative and cut the virtual interview short by just 15 minutes after starting “It was clear that the committee was unable to comply with the regulations on the use of the depository authority and, moreover, has no interest in complying with the regulations. We are happy to provide the information if they can do so fair and legal way or if we can reach a resolution on how to conduct a voluntary interview that minimizes the risk of election interference,” his lawyer said. Mastriano was also present at the Capitol when Trump’s mob stormed the compound, but he did not enter the building and has not been criminally charged.
