One man killed in overnight crash near Big Butler Fairgrounds – WPXI

UPDATE 6:34 a.m.: A 65-year-old New Castle man died in an overnight crash in Butler County.

James Barge was identified by state police as the victim of a two-vehicle crash that occurred around 1:25 a.m. on New Castle Road near Unionville Road in Franklin Township. Barge, who was the driver and sole occupant of a Toyota Camry, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 24-year-old woman from Fombell who was taken to a local hospital from the scene, will be charged with vehicular homicide while driving under the influence. as reported by the state police.

The woman was driving a Honda CRV when she allegedly crossed the center line and center turn lane and struck Barge’s vehicle.

ORIGINAL STORY: A road in Butler County is blocked hours after a crash that sent at least one person to an area hospital.

The crash happened after 1 a.m. at Route 422 and Unionville Road in Franklin Township.

Butler State Police said troopers are still at the scene, which is near the Big Butler Fairgrounds.
