Teens arrested after breaking into car in North Side neighborhood and shooting at resident, police say

SAINT ANTHONY – San Antonio police arrested a group of teenagers Monday morning after they allegedly broke into cars and shot a resident who was trying to stop them.

The incident happened around 4:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Fennel Drive, not far from Vance Jackson Road and the Loop 410 on the north side.

According to a preliminary SAPD report, a 40-year-old man noticed a group of men entering two vehicles in front of his home. He fired a shot into the air to scare them off, police said.

The suspects ran down the street and fired several shots at the resident, police said. No one was hit by the gunfire or injured.

A sergeant at the scene said four teenagers were involved, and three of them were located and arrested. Police later said they were not looking for any other suspects.

The names of the suspects have not been released. They face charges of burglary of a vehicle and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, police said.

The resident is not expected to face any charges, according to SAPD.

Nothing was stolen from the vehicles that were hit. Police are investigating.
