LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A second shooting has been reported in downtown Louisville in a separate incident.

The incident happened near Jefferson Community and Technical College in the 800 block of West Chestnut Street in Louisville.

JCTC reports that the campus has been cleared, but the school is currently closed.

One man died and another person was injured and taken to hospital. Louisville Metro Police report the suspect fled on foot and possibly got into a car and fled the scene.

That was just hours after a shooting at the Old National Bank downtown, but LMPD says the two incidents are unrelated.

According to LMPD, officers responded to a shooting around 11 a.m. at 8th Street and Castanyada. Upon arrival, officers located two individuals, both adults, who had been shot outside of this location.

The Medical Emergency Service was dispatched to the scene and declared the death of an adult man, while another adult woman was taken to the University Hospital with unknown injuries.

Because of the location, LMPD said they searched the JCTC campus to make sure the facility was free of any other potential threats or victims. No suspects are known at this time.
