Police are investigating a double homicide in Broken Arrow this Wednesday.
Police said Annette Hammock, 48, and her 17-year-old son were found dead in a home near 2500 West Honolulu Street around 11 a.m.
Fifty-year-old Phillip Hammock is being treated for what is believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police said Phillip was found dead in the home.
Ethan Hutchins with BAPD said investigators do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.
The Broken Arrow Police Department was called to the home for a welfare check done by a family member.
Broken Arrow police also confirmed that the FBI has been called because there is a “tribal element” to the case.
Broken Arrow Public Schools said Annette’s son attended BAPS since he was a toddler.
The district sent a statement, saying in part, “It is with deep sadness that we inform you of a loss to our school community. Earlier today, one of our students passed away unexpectedly. This loss will surely stir many emotions, concerns and questions for our entire school, especially our students.”
The school said counselors will be available for students and staff.
