Breaking news: USC athletic director Mike Bohn resigns

USC athletic director Mike Bohn has resigned. according to Ryan Kartje of the LA Times.

Bohn released a statement to the Times that said:

“After more than 40 years of leadership in college athletics, the time is right for me to step away from my role as director of athletics at USC. I have dedicated my life to serving student-athletes and advance the enterprise of intercollegiate athletics. I will always be proud to lead the program through the most tumultuous times in the history of the profession and at USC with a restored reputation and national milestone achievements. I led the process to join the Big 10 Conference, hired head coaches, produced the highest graduation rate in school history, and won numerous national and conference championships.As a former student-athlete, my purpose and identity are rooted in to support young people as they pursue their athletic, academic and personal goals. I have been fortunate to have had so many wonderful opportunities and meet so many great people, and I leave wishing the best to everyone I have worked with and served As I move forward, it’s important for me to focus on being present with my beloved family, addressing current health challenges, and reflecting on how I can make an impact in the future.”
