What about politicians and driving fines?
In 2012, Lib Dem minister Chris Huhne resigned from the coalition government after his then-wife was given speeding points.
Both ended up in prison for perverting the course of justice.
In 2019, Labor MP Fiona Onasanya was jailed and expelled from parliament for the same offense after lying to police to avoid a speeding ticket.
The current Home Office team also has a cadre register.
As well as Suella Braverman Speed PointsImmigration Minister Robert Jenrick is currently banned from driving after being caught going 30mph over the speed limit.
Security Minister Tom Tugendhat received the same punishment in November after he was seen behind the wheel with a mobile phone.
The situation the Home Secretary has found himself in may be less dire on paper, but it could still be politically problematic.
This is not necessarily because their actions alone are so egregious as to warrant dismissal or resignation.
A motoring lawyer has suggested there is nothing unusual about high profile people taking private speed awareness courses.
But he did admit that he probably shouldn’t have asked officials for help.

Popcorn at the ready: Braverman is going to have a bad week
Braverman in a tense political situation
The reason this could still cause problems is because of the somewhat tense political situation Mrs. Braverman currently she finds herself.
On the migration front, new numbers this week will likely show legal migration at another record high.
This is bad news for a minister who is described as hard-line with newcomers.
Ms Braverman has pushed for measures to try to curb foreign students, some of which are likely to be announced in the coming days.
But this has caused tension in the government as tougher suggestions have met resistance from other cabinet members who are concerned about economic and educational factors.
The speech at the right-wing conference ruffled feathers in the party
His speech at the right-wing conference on national conservatism on Monday also tore the party apart.
Some felt it sounded more like a leadership speech than an address by a senior minister.
Also on the political side, Ms Braverman’s call for the UK to train more fruit pickers and butchers seemed to go beyond government policy in tone if not substance.
Then there is the discussion around a member of his advisory team appearing to mislead reporters about whether the Home Secretary had been caught speeding in the first place.
And all of this comes on top of his resignation last year from the same position after sharing official documents from his personal email address.
Braverman is creating a lot of noise
Simply put: Ms. Braverman is making a lot of noise.
The danger is that political noise can become self-fulfilling and spiral as one controversy leads to another.
So where does this go from here?
It is hard to see Rishi Sunak sacking his home secretary and risking a clash with the right wing of his party.
But that doesn’t mean Ms. Braverman is in a comfortable place.
Known as the “graveyard of ministers”, the Home Office could yet claim another scalp.
