A rally for change was held in Yonkers over the weekend where political candidates joined residents calling for an end to what they say is nepotism and corruption at City Hall.
“No more of the same old we’ve been seeing year after year after year when it comes to City Council and city government,” said city council candidate Shatika Parker.
Parker was joined by mayoral candidate Corazon Caneda-Isaac and Christopher Johnson, the majority leader of the Westchester Board of Legislators.
He stated “we are here to make sure that the council is behind the hands of the city and the residents who live in this city.”
A judge ruled last month that the Yonkers City Council did not violate the city’s ethics code when it voted late last year to allow elected officials to serve four four-year terms.
