The Illinois State University Department of Politics and Government held the 30th Annual Political Science Student Conference on Friday, May 19, 2023. The conference featured eight panels and a keynote address and included 22 participants from various universities in the United States and abroad.

Papers presented at the conference covered diverse topics, including international politics, US foreign policy, human rights, comparative public policy, political theory, democratization in the Arab world and South Asia, the war and terrorism, education policy and American politics. .
Dr. Monica Marks of New York University, Abu Dhabi, delivered the keynote address, entitled The Tragedy of Tunisia: Democracy’s Do’s and Don’ts in the Arab World. The conference program is available at conference website.
