Woman accused of helping 2 Philadelphia prisoners escape
According to Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner, the woman has been charged with criminal conspiracy, hindering apprehension, escape and use of a communication facility.
PHILADELPHIA – A woman has been arrested and charged with helping two inmates escape from a Philadelphia jail earlier this week, police say.
According to Assistant Commissioner Frank Vanore Jr., Xianni Stalling, 21, was arrested by US Marshals at 1 a.m. Wednesday for helping Ameen Hurst, 18, Nasir Grant, 24, escape from the Correctional Center Industrial of Philadelphia.
A recorded jailhouse phone call from one of the men helped investigators make the connection to Stalling as the manhunt continues, authorities said.

A two-day manhunt for inmates who escaped from a Philadelphia prison continues with authorities up and down the East Coast on high alert.
Officials say the duo lost three counts in a roughly 18-hour period after escaping Sunday night around 8:30 p.m. Prisons Commissioner Blanche Carney told reporters that prison guards realized that they were missing on Monday afternoon, around 3pm.
Xianni Stalling, 21, is facing multiple charges for helping two men escape from a Philadelphia jail.
Sources tell FOX 29 they held the cell doors open and a door to an outdoor recreation yard was left open. The prison guards’ union claims that the perimeter sites have been left uninhabited for months due to budget cuts, but the city council “categorically denies this”.
The two then escaped through a hole in a perimeter fence. Carney says the fence that was built in was not equipped with an alarm to notify guards of a possible escape.
According to police, Hurst and Grant were seen on video cutting a hole in the fence with some type of tool before fleeing.
Police are urgently seeking to re-arrest Hurst because of his violent past, including three fatal shootings that claimed the lives of four people between December 2020 and March 2021.
On Christmas Eve 2020, Hurst is alleged to have fatally shot Dyewou Nyshawn Scruggs at a property in the 1800 block of Wynnewood Road. The following March, authorities believe Hurst opened fire on four people in a Philadelphia parking lot, killing two and wounding two others.
About a week later, Hurst is accused of fatally shooting Rodney Hargrove as he waited for a SEPTA bus after posting bail at the Curran Fromhold Correctional Facility. Investigators believe Hurst was in a car that chased Hargrove to the jail through an open gate, where he was shot to death.
The manhunt for Hurst and Grant extends far beyond the Philadelphia area. FOX 29’s Chris O’Connoll reports that U.S. Marshals along the East Coast are on high alert looking for the fugitives.
