Five people were arrested Monday night after breaking into an electrical vault in Tacoma, according to the Tacoma Police Department.

At approximately 6:28 p.m. Monday, officers received a report of five people breaking into the City of Tacoma Electric Vault, west of the Tacoma Mall.

According to area maps, the enclosed electric vault is located at the south end of the former Tacoma Golf Center and Driving Range in the 4500 block of South Tyler Street.

Officers arrested all five of them for theft and vandalism.

One of the men also had a gun. He is also accused of unlawful possession of a firearm and removal of identification marks from the weapon.
